Emptying Big Bags (Bulk Bags or FIBCs)

Empty the powder or bulk material from a big bag (bulk bag) and convey it directly to a downstream station: This is exactly what the big bag emptying station (BBU) is used for. In combination with a vacuum conveying system, numerous tasks and system variants can be realised. For example, the powder can be transferred from the big bag (bulk bag) to a silo. Or the bulk material can be dosed by weight into a reactor vessel or mixer.

The BBU emptying station can be used for standard bulk bags or FIBCs (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers), big bags, jumbo bags, super sacks or tonne bags.

The BBU emptying station is optimised for low-dust emission in conjunction with vacuum conveyors. It can be used with (almost) all materials to be conveyed. Products that have poor flow properties can be reliably discharged using the massaging paddles and material loosening devices.

Clumpy bulk materials and agglomerates can be crushed by an optional lump breaker. This enables and optimises conveying through the pipeline. However, crushing is also often desirable for subsequent process steps.

If there are higher requirements for low-dust connecting of the big bag (bulk bag) to the vacuum conveying system, the BBU can also be equipped with a glovebox. All processes for docking and undocking the product discharge of the big bag (bulk bag) are then carried out using gloves. A vacuum in the glovebox prevents air and dust from escaping into the environment.  

The BBU emptying station can optionally also be used for emptying small sacks, bags and containers. For this purpose, the station is extended with a corresponding emptying flap and a support table.
