ATEX seminar series finds great interest

Many powders and dusts can cause dust explosions if handled incorrectly – sometimes with catastrophic consequences. Accordingly, there is a great deal of interest from industry for our seminars on “Explosion Protection, ATEX and Powder Transport” that VOLKMANN organises on a regular basis. Over the years, 59 events have already been organised and a total of more than 1000 participants have already attended these seminars in Soest (Germany).
A central topic of the ATEX seminar is electrostatic charging and discharging, which can occur for a variety of reasons when handling powders and bulk materials, and which must be given special attention in pneumatic material handling. The causes are sometimes difficult for the plant operator and his personnel to recognise, and too often the problem is only identified after an accident has occurred.

The ATEX seminars address the causes and sources of danger as well as suitable countermeasures. The speakers cover electrostatic discharge comprehensively in theory, practice and with demonstrations.

VOLKMANN have dealt with explosion protection in vacuum conveying at a very early stage and have cooperated with leading experts. The knowledge gained in this way has been incorporated into optimising products and was also the initiator of the ATEX seminar series, which has been held regularly at Volkmann GmbH in Soest since 2001.

The seminars are currently only held in German. Due to the great interest in our ATEX seminars, we would like to point out the next dates on 30/31 January and 01/22 February 2023. Participant places are limited and often booked out quickly – early booking is therefore recommended if you are interested.

From 27 to 31 December 2024 – i.e. between Christmas and New Year – our reception and switchboard will only be open from 09:00 to 12:00.

We wish you a happy festive season and a good start to the new year!
