UL 508A certification simplifies approval for use in the USA and Canada

Our control systems can now be developed and certified in accordance with UL 508A. Customers in the USA and Canada benefit from significantly simplified and faster approval of the system by the local authorities.

It is very beneficial for industrial control panels (ICPs) for process machinery or systems to be certified in accordance with the UL 508A standard when used in the USA and Canada, provided they are operated with a maximum voltage of 600 volts. VOLKMANN GmbH has now been certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc., www.ul.com) in accordance with the UL 508A Industrial Control Panel Program. With this certification, VOLKMANN is authorized to design and fabricate electrical control panels as UL-certified components.
For our customers in the USA and Canada, a UL 508A-certified control system considerably simplifies the approval of the installed machine or system with the local authorities and shortens the approval period. This also applies to machines that are initially installed in other countries, but for which a later relocation to the USA or Canada is being considered. Customers can also be confident that the ICPs meet the highest standards for safety and quality.
The VOLKMANN GmbH electrical design and automation department had to complete a comprehensive training program to achieve the UL 508A certification, and will continue to undergo periodic inspections to maintain this certification in the future.
